A special AIMMS Educational License Package is available for a one-off fee of $/€450 and can be ordered by any educational establishments on the understanding that it will not be used for commercial purposes. The AIMMS Educational License Package exists of:
- a network license,
- one single user license,
- a student license,
- CPLEX, XPRESS, and MOSEK solver links,
- Limited BARON, LGO, and KNITRO solver versions
- free maintenance
Educational network license
The AIMMS 3 Educational network license provides an unlimited number of unrestricted AIMMS versions including the LP/MIP and NLP solver (i.e. an unlimited number of AIMMS Large versions that can be run within a Local Area Network).
Educational single user license
To be able to run an AIMMS version without being connected to the network, we provide within the package at least one AIMMS Educational single user license of an unrestricted AIMMS version including the LP/MIP and NLP solver (i.e. an AIMMS Large version).
If additional Single User Licenses are required, up to a maximum of 3 additional licenses, they can be purchased upon ordering for $/€100* per single user license.
Student license
With the AIMMS 3 Educational License Package, you also will receive a special PC-based AIMMS Student license. The AIMMS Student license is limited in the number of identifiers (100) and the size of the optimization models (600x600), but allows students to create and run smaller AIMMS models on their own computer.
This student license is only for educational purposes, and can be freely distributed among your students.
CPLEX, XPRESS and MOSEK solver links
In addition to the incorporated standard solvers, the AIMMS Education network and single user licenses also come with the CPLEX, XPRESS and MOSEK solver links of AIMMS. This makes it possible for you to hook up your existing (if available) CPLEX, XPRESS and/or MOSEK callable library to AIMMS.
Limited BARON, LGO, KNITRO solvers versions
The AIMMS 3 Educational License Package includes versions of the BARON and LGO solvers free of charge, which are limited to solving problems with a maximum of 10 individual variables and 10 individual constraints. A free limited KNITRO version is also available with a maximum of 600 individual variables and 600 individual constraints.
Free maintenance
For the AIMMS Educational License Package no maintenance fees are required, thus updates and new AIMMS 3 releases will be provided free of charge.

For the educational establishments, a special AIMMS Educational License Package is available. The total package price depends on the exact configuration of the package, but a fully unlimited package is already available at $/€450 (excl. shipping costs). Special conditions
The following special conditions apply when purchasing an AIMMS Educational License Package:
- The AIMMS Educational License Package may only be ordered by educational establishments and may only be used for non-commercial purposes.
- To purchase an AIMMS Educational License Package, a purchase order must be fully completed with all required contact information.
- The AIMMS Educational licenses have a limited time-span of one year. After this year, renewal of the one year licenses can be requested free of charge.
- The AIMMS Educational licenses are developer licenses.
- AIMMS is available for the Windows 32- and 64-bit platforms. The AIMMS Educational network license can also be used to run AIMMS applications to the Linux platform, but the AIMMS GUI is not available for Linux.
- The AIMMS Educational network and single user license are protected by a Parallel/USB hardware dongle (no nodelock licensing is available).
- Regarding the Educational license, Paragon Decision Technology reserves the right to refuse a license upon request or refuse an extension of the license when improper use of the license is suspected.
- No rights of any kind can be obtained by users of these licenses.
