About CQM
The consultancy firm CQM was founded in 1979 and provides insight, structure and optimal solutions to customers in a fact based and quantitative way. Their solutions are supported by models and always developed in close collaboration with their customers.
For 25 years, CQM's quantitative approach has proven its value, with over 100 customers worldwide, including Philips, DHL, Van Gansewinkel, ProRail, Océ, Corus, and Astron. CQM's main expert areas are:

- Logistics, and
- Planning
AIMMS Service Partnership
In February 2004, CQM and Paragon signed the AIMMS Service Partnership Agreement. CQM has already been using the AIMMS modeling system for almost 10 years, providing a service to their clients in both application development and consultancy areas. CQM services customers of Paragon in The Netherlands and Germany.
Applications and Solutions
Some examples of solutions built in AIMMS by CQM are the design optimization tool COMPACT, a tire purchasing tool built for Leaseplan, and the maintenance planning tool ORCA for ProRail. Furthermore, CQM uses AIMMS extensively in consultancy assignments like distribution network optimization and warehouse allocation problems.

ORCA, Maintenance Planning - ProRail ORCA is a custom-made decision support tool for ProRail, the owner of the Dutch railway system. The planning tool supports the process of constructing a strategic maintenance planning for the upcoming seven years. Inputs for the system are a digital railway map and the maintenance requirements for the upcoming years. The tool computes capacities on (parts of) the network and the effect of maintenance on this capacity. Output of the system is an optimal maintenance planning that describes which maintenance jobs should be executed simultaneously. |

COMPACT, Design Optimization - Philips COMPACT is a unique AIMMS-based design optimization tool. It implements a structured way-of-working towards an optimal design and leads to better designs in less time.

Optimize Central Purchasing - LeasePlan
LeasePlan Corporation is the world’s market leader in car leasing, with a vehicle fleet of more then one million cars. For suppliers of replacement parts, such as shock absorbers, tires and exhausts, LeasePlan is a very attractive customer.
In Europe alone, LeasePlan buys over 1.2 million new tires each year, a scale which offers LeasePlan attractive discount opportunities from suppliers. However, in practice, optimal utilization of this advantage appears not to be so easy.

Design of logistics networks - Philips, Deli XL, Agfa Reconsidering the distribution network structure is part of the strategy decisions of many companies. Such a study always consists of a qualitative and quantitative argumentation. CQM uses AIMMS as a modeling tool for the quantitative part of these studies. In such a project the result is a scenario analysis and optimization tool for finding the optimal distribution structure.
With this tool the project team, consisting of a number of distribution experts from the client and a number of CQM consultants, can analyze several scenarios and the effect of changes in the distribution strategy. Outputs of these models are the optimal number of warehouses, the number of layers in the supply chain and the sourcing of each customer. |

PlaNet, Network Planning - Danzas DHL With PlaNet Europe CQM supports her customers in taking transportation decisions on both a strategic and tactical level. The tool generates optimal route planning for parcel transport in Europe and is among others used to compute potential savings obtained from merging transportation networks.

DOTCOMP deliverables
DOTCOMP is a dedicated software tool for the generation and validation of compact models for the thermal characterization of electronic packages. It implements an effective thermal characterization methodology that has been developed within the ESPRIT project DELPHI. This methodology enables the creation of compact thermal models that are essentially independent of the application, thereby uniquely characterizing the electronic part. With DOTCOMP you can easily generate and validate such compact models. Data from a detailed or full simulation model is required.
