AIMMS Maintenance Service is available for users who want to stay current with new AIMMS developments and assure that they are supported within their application releases.

A new AIMMS Release Schedule

Through AIMMS 3.9, new Maintenance Releases and Software Updates have been provided to customers that agreed to our maintenance service. Maintenance Releases were only issued every 10-14 months. To enable customers to benefit earlier from newly developed features, a new release schedule will be introduced in 2009. We will regularly issue Feature Releases, which include fixes and enhancements ready for use without the need to wait for a Maintenance Release. After AIMMS 3.9, the Maintenance Releases will be replaced by Production Releases at the beginning of each calendar year. The Production Release will be based on the last Feature Release of the previous year.

  • Maintenance Releases (through AIMMS 3.9)
    An AIMMS Maintenance Release is a release of the AIMMS Software, which is designated by Paragon as a change in the digit(s) of the x- and/or y-component(s) of the AIMMS Software version number [x.y.z]. A maintenance release may provide new functionality, new solvers and bug fixes.
  • Feature Releases (as of AIMMS 3.10)
    An AIMMS Feature Release is a release of the AIMMS Software, which is designated by Paragon as a change in the digit(s) of the z-component(s) of the AIMMS Software version number [x.y.z] where the first Feature Release is designated by Paragon as a change in the digit(s) of the x- and/or y-component(s). A Feature Release is recognized by ‘FR’ in the z-component of the AIMMS Software version number; it may provide new features, new solvers, and bug fixes. 
  • Production Releases (as of AIMMS 3.10)
    An AIMMS Production Release is a release of the AIMMS Software, which is designated by Paragon as a change in the letters(s) from “FR” to “PR” in the z-component of the AIMMS Software version number [x.y.z]; it will only provide bug fixes or small solver updates. We will support Production Releases with Software Updates, such that they remain operational on agreed hardware and operating systems, up to 2 years after its initial release date.
  • Software Updates
    An AIMMS Software Update is a release of the AIMMS Software, which is designated by Paragon as a change in the digit(s) of the z-component(s) of the AIMMS Software version number [x.y.z]; it provides only bug fixes or small solver updates for a particular AIMMS Maintenance or Production Release.

 

Support and Upgrades

As long as you have your AIMMS license(s) in maintenance (i.e. by paying Paragon a license maintenance fee), you are entitled to download and install all AIMMS Releases (Maintenance, Feature, Production) and Software Updates that are available at no extra cost. In addition, maintenance allows you to upgrade your license to a more extended license, for example with additional solvers or to larger sizes.

If your AIMMS license(s) are not maintained, you are only entitled to download and install the AIMMS Maintenance or Production Releases that were available at the moment of purchase. All Software Updates of these releases will be available as well.

All AIMMS Releases and Software Updates are not covered by any warranty or condition, express, implied or statutory, and are expressly subject to the limitations and exclusions and other terms and conditions set forth in the AIMMS License Agreement.
