AIMMS Network License Server

The AIMMS 3 modeling software comes with built-in capabilities to acquire its license from a floating network license server. Before you can make use of this facility, an AIMMS Network License Server must be installed on a server PC somewhere on your local area network. The AIMMS Network License Server documentation discusses its installation and basic setup, as well as the setup of client AIMMS installations.

In a number of situations, using a floating network license server to obtain an AIMMS license may be more convenient than using a single-user license. The latter always requires that the computer is protected by a nodelocked AIMMS license, or by an AIMMS hardware dongle being connected to your computer. Using a network license server could be convenient, for instance, in the following situations:

if, at any time, only a small part of a (potentially) large group of users needs to make use of AIMMS concurrently, or
if you do not want to distribute single-user AIMMS licenses among your users.

Acquiring a license from a network license server is typically not a good idea for AIMMS users who are running AIMMS on their notebook computer and travel a substantial part of their time.

Download the latest version of the AIMMS Network License Server

For the whole AIMMS 3 series, one single version of the AIMMS Network License Server is available. We advise you to always use the most recent version of the AIMMS Network License Server, independent of the AIMMS version that you are using. For example, if you are using AIMMS 3.9, you should use the AIMMS 3.11 Network License Server if 3.11 is the highest available AIMMS Network License Server version. This brings you the advantage of improvements and bug fixes, and ensures maximal stability.

To be able to use the latest version of the AIMMS Network License Server, your AIMMS license does not need to be in maintenance. Furthermore, the AIMMS Network License Server can serve licenses for any previous AIMMS version. Please note that the AIMMS Network License server requires you to have the VC Redistributable SP1 8.0.50727.4053 installed.
