The new AI-augmented assistant lets more of a team act directly on the AIMMS platform, asking questions and adjusting plans without needing a specialist’s training to get started.

Haarlem, Netherlands, September 1, 2026 – AIMMS, the AI-augmented decision platform for enterprise supply chains, today announced the preview of SENSAI Apps, an AI-augmented assistant that lets business users work with the AIMMS platform in ordinary language.

Optimization software calculates the single best decision among thousands of possible combinations, weighing real-world limits such as cost, capacity and time. Companies rely on it to plan production, transportation, budgets and other operations that are too complex to work out with spreadsheets or manual analysis. Running these models and interpreting their results has traditionally required specialized training, which has kept many of the people who depend on the results from using the software directly. SENSAI Apps is built to close that gap by letting business users interact with the AIMMS platform the same way they would ask a colleague for help.

With SENSAI Apps, business users ask a question about current data or results, request a change to an input or scenario, start a new calculation, or ask for a plain-language explanation of an outcome, all by typing a request in everyday language.

Some organizations also use it to save a routine that comes up often, such as a recurring cost report, so the assistant can run it the same way each time, or to set up a multi-step process, such as importing new data and flagging problems, that runs from start to finish on request. In every case, the optimization model still produces the answer. SENSAI Apps gives more people a way to reach it.

That connection is what sets SENSAI Apps apart from other AI assistants on the market. A general-purpose AI tool can hold a conversation, but it has no link to a company’s own optimization model, so its answers cannot be tied back to a real calculation. Every answer SENSAI Apps gives comes directly from that same model.

SENSAI Apps shortens the time between a question and a decision, since acting on the AIMMS platform is now as easy as asking a colleague, and every action stays traceable to the same model calculation a specialist would run. Getting started takes a short setup step, but because it runs inside the AIMMS platform a team already uses, it does not require adopting a new system.

“The value of an optimization model has always been limited by how much of it we could expose through a fixed set of screens,” said Fergus Hathorn, Product Owner at AIMMS. “SENSAI Apps gives business users a way to work with the math directly. A planner can pose a question to the model, change an assumption, run it again, and keep going as long as the question is worth pursuing. That is a different kind of scenario analysis than a built-in interface can support.”

SENSAI Apps respects each user’s existing permissions and shows every action it takes in the conversation, so teams can trust the result.

In practice, a planner might log into the AIMMS platform and type, “Which plants are running below 80% capacity?”

SENSAI Apps searches the current plan and answers in a sentence. The planner then asks the assistant to raise the budget for the Denver distribution center by 15% and run the plan again. Within moments, the assistant reports the updated result and explains, in plain language, why a shipping route to Singapore was dropped from the new plan.

AIMMS is opening the SENSAI Apps preview to interested customers now, ahead of general availability planned for October 2026. Customers who want to join the preview can contact their AIMMS account team.
